I hope to attend the following shows in 2008:-

October 2008 - Hull Canary Association

This is always a good 'warm up/training' show. All varieties of canary will be present, but with a particularly strong entry of Glosters and Fifes. Rumour has it that a coach load of Scots will be bringing their birds down. Welcome lads! Sounds like a challenge and a good day to me!

October 2008 - International Gloster Breeders Association

The Gloster show of the year!!! Gloster breeders must enter this one. See how your birds measure up to the best in the UK. Enjoy a drink and a laugh with breeders from all over the world on the Saturday night at one of several venues/public houses in Nuneaton.

October 2008 - Yorkshire Gloster Canary Club

This is one of the traditional all Gloster shows, in fact the first one that I showed at, back in the 90's and will always have a 'soft spot' for. They really are a friendly bunch, so take a trip to Ripon in scenic North Yorkshire to check it out. The Glosters tend to be of a high standard, however novices and less experienced exhibitors are welcomed just as much as the top names that are likely to be there. The bacon butties are recommended! This year I will be judging at this event.

November 2008 - Ballymoney Ornithological Association

I'm honoured to be invited back to Northern ireland for another judging engagement. I have been informed that this is a very good show. Hope to see you there.

November 2008 - Midland Gloster

This is always a well attended show with birds of a high standard. Try to win this one! I would normally try to show here, but expect to be in Northern Ireland, judging.

November 2008 - Canada

Details may follow.

November 2008 - Humberside Gloster Association

Now this a show that I must recommend. Always a good entry of top quality birds and a very good novice entry. Novices should feel free to talk to the exhibitors, since we will try to encourage and help them in any way we can. A top notch Gloster show, top exhibitors, high standards, around 600 birds, around 100 novice birds, plenty of people to talk to. Well worth a visit, and enter your birds! Oh, did I forget to mention the delicious selection of home made snacks, sandwiches and cakes on offer? Cheap too.

November 2008 - Maltese Gloster Breeders Association

I am absolutely delighted to have been invited back to judge this show again. I hope to see all my Maltese friends showing their birds at this well attended event. The last time I was there, the entry was around 350/360 Glosters, including some very good birds indeed. Come on guys, keep me busy by entering even more!
